FAQs

About San Antonio Direct Primary Care

  • Why should I pay you a monthly fee on top of my insurance?

Easy question, at SADPC we are all about access and getting back to how medicine used to be practiced before insurance inflated costs astronomically and created barriers to access

  • Will I have direct access to my physician?

Yes! all patients do get a separate direct number to text or call.  We do request that personal time after work hours is respected and only urgent matters will be addressed at that time.

  • Is anything else included in the monthly fee?

With the monthly fee we include EKGs, various joint injections, steroid injections, B12 injections (if warrented), osteopathic treatments, flu/strep/covid testing, urine dips, certain breathing treatments, certain skin laceration repairs (if in scope of practice) as well as certain skin biopsies (pathologist/lab fee is separate)

  • Can you still order labs/imaging prescribe medication and do referrals?

Yes to all of the above!

  • Do I have to commit to a year membership?

No, we designed SADPC to be as transparent as possible.  You can cancel at any time.

  • Do you draw labs in office

Yes we are able to draw labs for quest and labcorp in the office.

  • What happens when you are on vacation?

While on vacation there will be coverage through another direct primary care physician who follows the same philosophy as SADPC.

  • Why did you change from traditional practice to DPC?

The current healthcare system is very broken and physicians are either paid by volume of visits/procedures or by how "sick" they can make patients look on paper to medicare.  Before I had a panel of thousands but with DPC I can reduce this to 400 or less to provide true one on one medical care the way it should be.
